The market certainly has high hopes for the company. SpaceX has become one of the most talked about private businesses in the world, and for good reason. Its rockets land themselves, its Starlink network beams internet from orbit, and NASA leans on it for crewed missions. For many investors, the question is simple: could owning a piece of SpaceX eventually grow into a seven figure nest egg?
There is one major catch. SpaceX is not publicly traded, so you cannot buy its stock on a normal exchange. The shares trade privately, mostly through tender offers and secondary sales limited to certain investors. That means everyday savers usually get exposure only through funds that hold private positions, and those come with high fees and lockup periods.
Even so, the long term case draws attention. Starlink could become a global cash machine, launch contracts keep piling up, and Starship aims to slash the cost of reaching orbit. If those bets pay off, early backers could see enormous gains.
The risks are just as large. Space is expensive, regulations are tight, and a single failure can rattle confidence. Anyone dreaming of retiring a millionaire on SpaceX alone should treat it as a high risk slice of a diversified plan, not a guaranteed ticket.
