Capital Small Finance Bank Ltd has posted a solid performance for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027, with gross advances climbing 22% year-on-year. The bank's profit after tax also saw a significant boost, rising 29% compared to the same period last year.
During the earnings call, management attributed the growth to a focused strategy on expanding the loan book while maintaining asset quality. The bank has been deepening its presence in semi-urban and rural markets, where demand for small-ticket loans remains steady. Deposits also grew at a healthy pace, supporting the bank's lending activities.
Net interest income improved, helped by stable margins and a favorable mix of advances. The bank's cost-to-income ratio remained under control despite investments in new branches and digital infrastructure. Officials noted that the credit quality metrics stayed within comfortable levels, with gross non-performing assets slightly lower than the previous quarter.
Looking ahead, the bank aims to sustain this momentum by targeting specific segments like agriculture, micro-enterprises, and retail housing. Management expressed confidence in meeting the full-year guidance, citing a strong pipeline of loan applications and a stable economic environment. The bank continues to focus on operational efficiency and customer acquisition without compromising on risk standards.
