Jake Carter and Billy Offer have come on board at Range Select, the film finance and sales arm of Range Media Partners. The two will serve as Partners and Co-Heads of the division, taking over leadership of the company's growing film slate.
Carter and Offer bring deep experience in independent film financing, production, and international sales. Carter previously worked at a major talent agency where he helped structure financing for a number of high-profile independent films. Offer has a background in both film finance and distribution, having worked on deals for projects ranging from festival darlings to commercial genre fare.
At Range Select, the pair will oversee the acquisition and packaging of film projects, as well as manage relationships with financiers and distributors. Their appointment signals Range Media's continued push into the film space, building on the company's existing work in talent management, music, and brand partnerships.
Range Select was launched to provide filmmakers with a more streamlined path to financing and global sales. With Carter and Offer now at the helm, the division is expected to ramp up its activity and pursue a wider range of projects. The two will work closely with Range Media's broader team to identify opportunities that align with the company's creative and financial goals.
Industry observers see the move as a natural step for Range Media, which has been steadily expanding its footprint in the entertainment business since its founding. Carter and Offer's combined expertise is expected to help the company compete more aggressively in the crowded independent film market.
