LifeMD (LFMD) Secures AT&T Partnership. Can Free Memberships Produce Paying Patients?

LifeMD (LFMD) Secures AT&T Partnership. Can Free Memberships Produce Paying Patients?

LifeMD, Inc. (NASDAQ:LFMD) announced an exclusive healthcare collaboration on September 15 that initially makes virtual-health membership benefits available to approximately 29 million eligible AT&T wireless and fiber customers across 11 states. Customers must be 18 or older, and some services have additional eligibility and state restrictions. A nationwide expansion planned for January 2027 would extend the program to AT&T's broader customer base.

The arrangement gives eligible subscribers access to virtual care services at no upfront cost, a structure LifeMD hopes will pull new users into its ecosystem and eventually convert a portion of them into paying patients for ongoing treatment, prescriptions, and specialty programs.

For LifeMD, the partnership offers a distribution channel that does not rely on expensive direct advertising. AT&T gains a health and wellness perk it can bundle with its connectivity plans, a growing trend among telecom providers looking to differentiate their offerings.

The central question is whether free access translates into sustained revenue. Conversion rates on similar bundled health perks have varied widely across the industry, and LifeMD has not disclosed specific targets for the program. The company also faces the challenge of standing out in a crowded telehealth market where competitors are pursuing their own corporate alliances.

Investors will be watching enrollment figures and conversion data in coming quarters for signs of whether the AT&T deal becomes a meaningful growth driver or remains a modest add-on.
