Google's Pixel phones are receiving a significant update to their hallmark At a Glance widget, introducing two highly-requested categories of live information. For the first time in years, the feature is expanding beyond weather, calendar events, and travel details to include real-time sports scores and key financial updates.
The new Sports functionality will allow users to track live scores for their favorite teams directly from their home or lock screen. Meanwhile, the Finance addition will provide at-a-glance updates on pre-selected stock tickers and market indices. This move transforms the widget from a primarily calendar- and commute-focused tool into a more comprehensive hub for personalized, glanceable data.
The update is rolling out now via a server-side switch and the latest version of the Pixel Launcher. Users can long-press on their home screen, enter the At a Glance settings, and toggle on the new Sports and Finance cards. Once enabled, they can customize which teams and stocks they wish to follow. This enhancement marks a notable step in Google's effort to make the Pixel's signature widget an even more integral and informative part of the daily user experience.
