Santander Consumer Bank has announced a new partnership with Taiga Motors, a Canadian manufacturer of electric personal watercraft and snowmobiles. The deal will provide retail financing options for customers looking to purchase Taiga's electric vehicles across Canada.
The partnership aims to make Taiga's lineup, which includes the Orca WX3 and other electric watercraft, more accessible to buyers. Santander, already a major player in consumer lending, will offer tailored financing plans for Taiga products through its network of dealers. This move aligns with the growing demand for electric recreational vehicles and the shift toward sustainable transportation.
Taiga, based in Montreal, has been pushing the boundaries of electric powertrains for off-road and marine vehicles. The Orca WX3, for example, is an electric wakeboard boat designed for performance on the water. By working with Santander, Taiga hopes to remove one of the biggest barriers for potential buyers: the upfront cost.
Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed. The companies expect the financing options to be available at participating dealers starting later this year. For Santander, this is another step in expanding its presence in the Canadian market, particularly in the growing EV sector. For Taiga, it is a chance to reach more riders and boaters who want to go electric without the full price tag upfront.
